Elliot Riley

The Inner voice

Elliot Riley, a German Saxophonist of American descent, was the alto saxophonist of the Raschèr Saxophone Quartet for 23 seasons (2001-2024), and his activities in that world renowned chamber music ensemble made him at home in the world‘s great concert halls.
He has enjoyed playing in various orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the “SWR Orchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg“,  and “Lés Siecles“ in Paris.

A soloist in his own right, Elliot Riley enjoyed one particular highlight as an example: a solo tour with the “Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie“, located on the German-Polish border, with which he performed the saxophone concerto by Lars-Erik Larsson seven times.

Elliot Riley is deeply committed to his various pedagogical activities, including his previous RSQ-related projects such as the “Raschèr Saxophon Akademie“ and the “Raschèr Baltic Academy!“, and spanning to activities outside of the RSQ.

Elliot Riley places great value in passing on his wealth of musical experience to the young generation of today.  Since 2012 he has been the saxophone teacher at the “Jugendmusikschule St. Georgen-Furtwangen“, located in the heart of Germany‘s Black Forest.  Whether teaching as part of the various masterclasses that come with his chamber music activities throughout the world, or while teaching at the music school, Elliot Riley always consistently adheres to his own personal code of teaching:

“Every single student is an artist in their own right, and I treat them this way in their lessons.“
